Dr. Morgan Harrington
Morgan was awarded his PhD in anthropology from the University of Melbourne in 2014. His thesis analyzed social and environmental change among the Siang Dayak of Indonesia’s Central Kalimantan Province during a time of rapid industrial development.
Since then, he has held positions as a ‘Working-on-Country’ manager for the Ngaanyatjarra Land Council, as a Research Fellow at the National Library of Australia, and as a lecturer in anthropology and development studies at the Australian National University. Prior to obtaining his PhD, Morgan worked as a journalist in India and Indonesia, and he remains a passionate writer of narrative non-fiction.
Since joining LocuSAR in 2017, Morgan has participated in projects conducted for the Rirratjingu Aboriginal Corporation in East Arnhem Land, and the Barngarla Determination Aboriginal Corporation, including their native title claim to Port Augusta.
